Aaron Noel McKenna

Aaron Noel McKenna (known as "The Silencer") is an Irish orthodox middleweight who rose through a varied international program to become the incumbent IBF world middleweight champion. Born in Smithborough, County Monaghan, Ireland on 6 July 1999, McKenna has compiled a 21–0 professional record with 10 stoppage victories and established himself as a steady presence in the 160-pound division. McKenna turned professional in late 2017, debuting with a points win in Las Vegas. He spent his early years campaigning in the United States, building experience on four- and six-round cards where a string of early knockouts and corner retirements showcased his finishing ability. By the end of 2019 he had multiple early-career stoppages on his ledger while regularly fighting at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino and other West Coast venues. From 2020 McKenna expanded his activity in the United Kingdom, recording victories across England and steadily stepping up his level of opposition. He added rounds and experience with a mixture of six-, eight- and ten-round contests before scoring his first title success. In December 2021 McKenna captured the WBC Youth middleweight title with an eight-round unanimous decision over Carlos Gallego Montijo, his first recognized title on a professional record that continued to grow. That momentum carried into 2022 and 2023, where McKenna added a seventh-round TKO of David Benítez and claimed the WBC International middleweight title with a ten-round unanimous decision over Uisma Lima at York Hall. He continued to demonstrate versatility, following comfortable points wins with late stoppages, including a sixth-round TKO of Mickey Ellison in Liverpool and a tenth-round TKO in Japan against Jeovanny Estela. The most consequential phase of McKenna's career came in 2025 and 2026 as he moved into world-level company. A high-profile 12-round unanimous decision over former world-level opponent Liam Smith at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium elevated his standing, and on 8 August 2026 he won the vacant IBF world middleweight title by unanimous decision against Etinosa Oliha at the 3Arena in Dublin on the Zuffa Boxing 10 card. Now established as the IBF titleholder, McKenna combines a patient, methodical style with the power to close fights when opportunities arise. At 21–0 (10 KOs) he occupies a championship position in the middleweight division, with a resume that traces a steady climb from early U.S. cards to international title fights and world championship success.
