About Agit Kabayel
Agit Kabayel is an undefeated German heavyweight boxer and WBC heavyweight world champion. Born in Leverkusen, Germany, Kabayel built his career through the European heavyweight scene before emerging as one of the leading fighters in the division.
Kabayel won the European heavyweight championship and gained wider international attention with a victory over Derek Chisora in 2017. His career later accelerated dramatically on the global stage.
In December 2023, Kabayel stopped the previously undefeated Arslanbek Makhmudov in four rounds in Riyadh. He followed that performance by stopping another unbeaten heavyweight, Frank SΓ‘nchez, in the seventh round in May 2024.
Kabayel continued his rise in February 2025, knocking out Zhilei Zhang in the sixth round to capture the WBC interim heavyweight championship. He successfully defended the interim belt against Damian Knyba in January 2026, winning by third-round technical knockout and improving his professional record to 27β0 with 19 stoppage victories.
On 27 June 2026, Kabayel was officially recognised as the WBC heavyweight world champion after Oleksandr Usyk vacated the title. The promotion made Kabayel the first boxer of Turkish heritage to hold the WBC heavyweight world championship.
