Anthony Olascuaga

Anthony Olascuaga, known in the ring as "Princesa," is an American orthodox flyweight who has risen to prominence as the WBO world flyweight champion. Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Olascuaga turned professional in September 2020 and has compiled a 12-1 record with nine stoppage wins, establishing himself as a finishing fighter in the 112-pound division. Olascuaga made an immediate impact in his pro debut, stopping Edwin Reyes in the second round at Osceola Heritage Park in September 2020. He continued to build momentum with wins across the U.S. and abroad, including a unanimous decision over Saúl Juárez in 2021. In March 2022 he stepped into regional title territory, winning the vacant WBA Fedelatin Flyweight title by unanimous decision over Gilberto Pedroza in Panama. He retained that regional crown with a first-round TKO of Marco Sustaita in October 2022. A defining early-career test came in April 2023 when Olascuaga moved up to challenge unified light-flyweight champion Kenshiro Teraji in Tokyo. Olascuaga suffered his first professional defeat, stopped in the ninth round as Teraji successfully defended the WBA (Super), WBC and The Ring light-flyweight titles. The loss, against a seasoned undisputed-caliber titleholder at 108 pounds, proved a turning point rather than a derailment. Olascuaga returned later in 2023 to notch a seventh-round TKO of veteran Giemel Magramo in Tokyo and then made the jump that would define his career to date. On July 20, 2024, he captured the vacant WBO World Flyweight title with a third-round knockout of Riku Kano at Ryōgoku Kokugikan. That world title win set off a run of successful defences in high-profile settings: a bout against Jonathan González in October 2024 that was initially reported as a no-contest but was subsequently recorded by the commission as a TKO win for Olascuaga; a 12-round unanimous decision over Hiroto Kyoguchi in Tokyo in March 2025; and stoppage victories over Juan Carlos Camacho Jr., Taku Kuwahara and, most recently, Jukiya Iimura, whom he stopped in the ninth round on March 15, 2026 in Yokohama. Those results left him with multiple WBO title defences and a reputation for ending fights before the final bell. At 12-1 with nine stoppage victories, Olascuaga occupies the WBO flyweight throne and has demonstrated the capacity to win at home and overseas, against both regional contenders and world-caliber opposition. His career to date is marked by steady progression from regional titleholder to reigning world champion, with the April 2023 defeat to Teraji serving as the only blemish on a record defined by resumed momentum and a string of convincing title defences.
