Devin Miles Haney

Devin Miles Haney is an American professional boxer who has risen through multiple weight classes to become the WBO world welterweight champion. Fighting out of an orthodox stance and known by the nickname “The Dream,” Haney is a San Francisco native who lists Las Vegas and Henderson, Nevada, as his home base. At 175 cm with a 183 cm reach, he has compiled a record of 33–0 with 1 no contest and 15 stoppage wins while remaining an active force in the division. Haney turned professional in December 2015, debuting in Tijuana where a string of early stoppage victories and decision wins helped him establish momentum. That early run culminated in his first noted title when he captured the vacant WBC Youth lightweight belt in March 2017. Over the next two years he steadily moved up the domestic and regional ranks, claiming vacant regional honours including the USBA lightweight title (May 2018) and the IBF North American lightweight title (September 2018), and adding WBC International and WBO Inter-Continental lightweight straps in January 2019. In May 2019 he added the WBA International lightweight title while retaining his other international honours. Haney collected the WBC interim lightweight title in September 2019 and was defending a WBC lightweight title by November of that year. He recorded successful defences of those lightweight honours through 2021, beating notable opponents such as Yuriorkis Gamboa (November 2020), Jorge Linares (May 2021) and Joseph Diaz Jr. (December 2021). The career-defining breakthrough came on June 5, 2022, when he defeated George Kambosos Jr. to become the undisputed lightweight champion, unifying the WBA (Super), WBC, IBF, WBO and The Ring titles; he then retained those belts in a rematch with Kambosos in October 2022. Haney further cemented his standing at lightweight with a unanimous decision victory over Vasiliy Lomachenko in May 2023. Following his undisputed run at lightweight, Haney moved up to light-welterweight and captured the WBC light-welterweight title with a unanimous decision over Regis Prograis in December 2023. A high-profile April 20, 2024 contest with Ryan Garcia was officially recorded as a No Contest after the result was overturned following a positive test and a settlement with the New York State Athletic Commission. Haney continued his progression up in weight, defeating José Carlos Ramírez by unanimous decision in May 2025 at a reported 144 lb catchweight, and on November 22, 2025 he won the WBO world welterweight title, stopping at 147 lb to become the organization’s world champion at welterweight. Across 34 completed professional bouts listed in his record, Haney's measured climb through youth, regional and full world titles and his ability to carry championship form through incremental weight-class moves define his current position: an active WBO world welterweight champion with a spotless loss column and a notable No Contest on his ledger.
