Efe Ajagba

Efe Ajagba is a Nigerian heavyweight whose combination of size, power and measured ring presence has kept him prominent in the division since turning professional in 2017. Known as “The Silent Roller,” Ajagba fights from an orthodox stance and is listed at 196 cm with a 216 cm reach. Born in Ughelli, Delta State, Nigeria, he is based in Stafford, Texas, and has compiled a reported record of 21–1–1 in his pro career. Ajagba began his pro campaign with a string of early stoppages, frequently finishing opponents inside the first round and establishing himself as a heavy-hitting prospect. In 2019 he stepped up his opposition and profile, halting veteran Amir Mansour by RTD in March and following with a second-round TKO of Michael Wallisch in April. That year also brought a 10-round unanimous decision over Ali Eren Demirezen, showing Ajagba could carry his power across distance when required. He carried momentum into 2020 with a ninth-round TKO of Răzvan Cojanu at Barclays Center, and added a third-round KO of Brian Howard in April 2021. Ajagba’s first professional defeat came later that year on October 9, 2021, when he lost a 10-round unanimous decision to Frank Sánchez in a fight for the WBC Continental Americas and WBO–NABO heavyweight titles. That defeat remains his only loss on record. After rebuilding in 2022, Ajagba returned to a higher level of activity in 2023 and captured the vacant WBC Silver heavyweight title on August 26, 2023, via a fourth-round DQ over Zhan Kossobutskiy. He followed with a successful WBC Silver defence by fourth-round TKO of Joseph Goodall on November 4, 2023, and retained the belt by split decision against Guido Vianello on April 13, 2024. Research notes that although Ajagba won and defended the WBC Silver title through April 2024, later public WBC materials are inconsistent about the formal status of that belt, so whether he still holds it is unverified. Ajagba’s career has also included a majority draw with Martin Bakole in Riyadh on May 3, 2025, and a notable rebound TKO victory over former world titleholder Charles Martin on February 15, 2026. Across his wins Ajagba is credited in the dossier with 15 stoppages, though some sources report a total of 14; the stoppage count is therefore disputed in different databases.
