Fabio Wardley

Fabio Wardley is a British heavyweight boxer and former WBO heavyweight world champion from Ipswich, Suffolk. Unusually for an elite professional heavyweight, Wardley entered boxing without a traditional amateur career, having competed in white-collar boxing before turning professional. Wardley developed a reputation for knockout power as he progressed through the British heavyweight ranks, winning English, British and Commonwealth honours. His rise included victories over Nathan Gorman and David Adeleye before a dramatic rivalry with Frazer Clarke. Wardley and Clarke drew in March 2024 before Wardley delivered an emphatic first-round stoppage in their October rematch. He continued his rise by stopping Justis Huni in the tenth round in June 2025. In October 2025, Wardley scored one of the biggest victories of his career when he stopped former WBO champion Joseph Parker in the eleventh round. The victory earned Wardley the WBO interim heavyweight title, and he was subsequently elevated to full WBO heavyweight champion after Oleksandr Usyk vacated the belt. Wardley made his first defence against Daniel Dubois in May 2026. After dropping Dubois twice early in the contest, Wardley was eventually stopped in the eleventh round, suffering the first professional defeat of his career and losing the WBO heavyweight championship.
