José Eduardo “Sugar” Núñez Navarro is a Mexican super-featherweight who rose from regional cards in Sinaloa to capture a world title, earning a reputation for heavy hands and a high stoppage rate. Born and raised in Los Mochis, Sinaloa, Mexico (born 1997-07-25), Núñez is an orthodox fighter listed at 168 cm with a 173 cm reach. He competes at super-featherweight (junior-lightweight) and, as of the last recorded bout, is an active professional and a former IBF junior-lightweight world champion. Núñez turned pro in 2015 and made an immediate impression, opening his career with a first-round knockout on a local card in Puerto Peñasco.
