Justis Huni

Justis Huni is an Australian heavyweight who has become a regular presence on the regional championship scene. Fighting out of Brisbane with an orthodox stance, Huni (nicknamed "JPH") drew early pro attention by winning the Australian heavyweight title on his debut and has since compiled a 13–1 record with 7 stoppage victories. He stands 193 cm tall with a reach reported at approximately 194 cm. No world titles. Has held/contested regional/secondary belts including WBO Global (won 2024, defended), WBA International (won 2023), IBF Pan Pacific (won 2022 and listed on later fight notices), WBO Oriental, OPBF and the Australian heavyweight title (won on pro debut). His pro career has followed a steady, regional-first progression, moving from domestic title fights to higher-profile international matchups. Huni turned professional by capturing the Australian heavyweight title on October 22, 2020, stopping Faiga Opelu via corner retirement in the seventh round. He defended that belt twice in 2020–21, including TKO wins over Arsene Fosso and veteran Paul Gallen, and recorded an early first-round TKO of Jack Maris during that stretch. In May 2021 he recorded his first full-distance victory, a unanimous decision in a 10-round defence of the Australian title against Christian Ndzie Tsoye. In June 2022 Huni stepped up his regional résumé by defeating Joseph Goodall by unanimous decision to collect the vacant IBF Pan Pacific, WBO Oriental and OPBF heavyweight titles. He retained those regional belts later that year with a unanimous decision over Kiki Toa Leutele. That run led to further international assignments: Huni captured the vacant WBA International heavyweight title with a unanimous decision over Andrew Tabiti in Cancún in October 2023, then won the vacant WBO Global heavyweight title by unanimous decision against Kevin Lerena in Riyadh in March 2024 and followed with a successful defence against Troy Pilcher in July 2024. Huni’s recorded stoppages include his debut TKO, stoppages of Fosso, Jack Maris, Paul Gallen, Troy Pilcher, Leandro Robutti and Shaun Potgieter — seven inside-the-distance wins in total. After adding non-title stoppage wins late in 2024 and early 2025 and reclaiming the IBF Pan Pacific notice on the Potgieter card, Huni suffered his first professional defeat on June 7, 2025, a tenth-round KO to Fabio Wardley in a fight for the vacant WBA interim heavyweight title. He returned to the ring on April 11, 2026, scoring a majority decision over Frazer Clarke at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Active and still occupying a prominent regional role, Huni’s record and list of opponents underline his status as a heavyweight who has steadily moved from domestic championship beginnings to higher-profile international fights while collecting multiple regional and secondary titles along the way.
