Leonardo Mosquea

Leonardo “The King” Mosquea is an undefeated French cruiserweight contender who has risen from the domestic scene to become one of the division's leading world-title challengers. Born in the Dominican Republic on 11 March 1994, Mosquea moved to Cayenne in French Guiana as a child before later relocating to metropolitan France. He turned professional in 2019 and steadily built an unbeaten record while establishing himself in the cruiserweight division. Mosquea captured the French cruiserweight championship before moving onto the European stage. His breakthrough came against British contender Cheavon Clarke in Monte Carlo on 14 December 2024. Mosquea dropped Clarke in the opening round and went on to win by split decision over 12 rounds, claiming the vacant European cruiserweight championship and handing Clarke his first professional defeat. An arm injury later forced Mosquea to withdraw from a planned European title defence against Mateusz Masternak and relinquish the EBU championship. Rather than derailing his rise, Mosquea returned to action and continued his unbeaten run. In June 2026, Mosquea faced Francisco Rivas Ruiz in Cayenne. He needed just 57 seconds to score a first-round knockout, retaining the WBA Ibero-American cruiserweight title and adding the vacant WBO Latino championship.
