Moses Itauma

Moses Itauma is a British heavyweight boxer regarded as one of the leading young fighters of his generation. Born in Kežmarok, Slovakia, and based in Chatham, Kent, Itauma turned professional at just 18 years old in January 2023 after a successful amateur career. Itauma quickly established a reputation for speed and punching power, recording a string of early stoppages as he progressed through the heavyweight division. His rise included victories over experienced opponents such as Mariusz Wach and Demsey McKean. In August 2025, Itauma produced one of the biggest performances of his young career when he stopped former world-title challenger Dillian Whyte in the opening round in Riyadh. He followed that victory by stopping Jermaine Franklin Jr in five rounds in Manchester in March 2026. Itauma challenged Filip Hrgović for the vacant IBF heavyweight world championship at London's O2 Arena on 29 August 2026. Itauma controlled much of the early contest and dropped Hrgović in the second round, but Hrgović survived and took advantage as Itauma tired later in the fight.
