Najee Lopez

Najee “Chino” Lopez is an unbeaten Puerto Rican-American professional boxer competing in the light-heavyweight division. Born in Atlanta, Georgia, on 20 September 1999 and raised in Ellenwood, Lopez entered the professional ranks following an extensive amateur career that included more than 200 bouts. He made his professional debut in August 2021 and quickly established himself as a powerful prospect at 175 pounds. Lopez steadily progressed through the professional ranks with victories over opponents including Khainell Wheeler, Yildo Depestre and Marcos Escudero. His February 2024 contest with Escudero provided one of his tougher early tests, with Lopez earning a majority decision after eight rounds. He faced another unbeaten opponent in Steven Sumpter in July 2024. Lopez was forced to recover from a knockdown but went on to earn a unanimous-decision victory, demonstrating that his game extended beyond the knockout power that had defined much of his early career. Lopez subsequently produced a succession of stoppages, defeating Ismael Ocles, Gilbert Castillo Rivera, Juan Gerardo Osuna and Kalvin Henderson before facing Manuel Gallegos in March 2026. Gallegos pushed Lopez into the later stages, but Lopez secured an eighth-round stoppage to win the WBO Latino and WBA Continental Americas light-heavyweight titles. Lopez's rise continued on 29 August 2026 when he faced unbeaten Colombian Juan Carrillo at the Galen Centre in Los Angeles. Entering the contest at 16–0, Lopez stopped Carrillo in round nine, improving his professional record to 17–0 with 14 stoppage victories.
