Eddie Hearn: Conor Benn has 'nowhere to go' β Eubank Jr. his only realistic comeback option
Former promoter Eddie Hearn says Conor Benn's only viable route after his recent stoppage by Ryan Garcia is a return to the trilogy with Chris Eubank Jr., describing Benn as having "nowhere to go."
Eddie Hearn told iFL TV that Conor Benn has a limited set of options after his stoppage defeat to Ryan Garcia earlier this month, and that a return to the trilogy with Chris Eubank Jr. is Benn's only realistic fight. Hearn, who promoted Benn until the start of this year, criticised Benn's prospects under Dana White's Zuffa Boxing and suggested a meeting with Eubank Jr. β whom Hearn has been linked to signing β would be the natural next step if Benn wants a high-profile comeback.

Speaking to iFL TV, Eddie Hearn said Benn has "nowhere to go" and argued his only meaningful fight now is a renewed series with Chris Eubank Jr. Hearn made the comments after Benn was knocked out by Ryan Garcia in an unsuccessful world title bid earlier this month. The former Matchroom chief suggested Benn is likely considering the Eubank route as his most viable option for a high-profile return.
Two underwhelming Zuffa outings and a stoppage by Garcia
Boxing News reported Benn has had two fights since leaving Matchroom and signing with Dana White's Zuffa Boxing. In those bouts, he "failed to put a dent into a wounded Regis Prograis" and was then stopped inside two rounds when he challenged Ryan Garcia for the WBC welterweight title. Hearn used those results to underline his view that Benn's choices are limited moving forward.
Hearn sets the terms if Eubank Jr. takes the Benn fight
Hearn said he has held a meeting with Chris Eubank Jr. but that no further talks are planned at present. Outlining how he would represent Eubank Jr., Hearn said: "If I am representing Chris Eubank Jr., I am saying, 'You have got a lot of options; if Conor wants to come back, then you do it at your weight, with no rehydration clause and on your terms. If not, we will go and fight someone else.'" The comment makes clear that Hearn sees Eubank dictating the conditions should he choose to take a rematch with Benn.
From past animosity to a headline-making reunion?
Boxing News noted there was "plenty of animosity" between Eubank Jr. and Hearn during last year's two EubankβBenn grudge matches. Hearn acknowledged the theatrical element, saying he and Eubank both "love storylines and f***ery" and suggesting a partnership between them could be "a sweet partnership."
